Meet Our Social Security Disability Attorneys
James H. Greeman – A nationwide leading Social Security disability attorney, James was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1995 and to the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota in April, 2001.
James is a graduate of Hamline University, and he obtained his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. James has practiced exclusively in Social Security disability law throughout his 16-year legal career. He has personally represented more individuals in their disability claims than any other attorney licensed and practicing in Minnesota. During those 16 years, he has either represented or worked on disability claims for more than 45,000 people throughout the country and at all levels of the administrative process and in United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Early in his career he made a commitment to representing the less fortunate members of our community. James has also represented disabled children, indigent and homeless claimants, those applying for SSI and the mentally ill.
James received recognition in 1999, 2000 and 2001 when he was named a “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics, Twin Cities Business Monthly and Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine, a distinction fewer than 5% of all Minnesota attorneys receive. He was also recognized when named by his peers in these same publications in 2001 as a “Rising Star” in the legal profession.

Patrick A. Toomey - Prior to beginning his legal education, Patrick served four years in the United States Marine Corps. During law school he served with the United States Army Reserve in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Hamline University, where he completed his B.A. in Legal Studies and obtained his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law, receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the study of Conflicts of Law. In addition, Patrick obtained his LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, England.
Patrick Toomey practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law and has represented thousands of clients at all levels from initial filing through civil actions before the U.S. District Court. Patrick has practiced Social Security disability law since graduating from law school in 2002.
Patrick is licensed in the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.
Patrick lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with his wife Sonia. He enjoys fly-fishing, mountain biking, and camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Northern Minnesota.

Jason R. Emery – Jason joined Greeman Toomey in the summer of 2009. Jason obtained his B.A. in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas and his Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Jason is admitted to the Minnesota Bar and to the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
While in law school Jason worked in the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights where he investigated allegations of discrimination and also in the law school’s legal clinic as a certified student attorney working in the field of Immigration. These experiences provided Jason with a strong foundation of compassion for individuals who are engaged in significant struggles and require legal assistance.
Prior to joining Greeman Toomey Jason assisted in the representation of hundreds of individuals seeking Social Security disability benefits and/or Supplemental Security Income by drafting legal briefs and memoranda advocating their positions. Since joining Greeman Toomey Jason has worked on disability claims at all levels of the process including civil actions before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
Jason lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife Jess who teaches English as a second language at a local high school. In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, and spending time outdoors.

Daniel T. Yates – Daniel is an associate attorney with Greeman Toomey, PLLC. He is admitted to the Minnesota Bar and practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law.
Daniel is a graduate of Indiana University and received his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. Prior to joining Greeman Toomey, Daniel served as a certified student attorney at the Minnesota State Public Defender’s Office and the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office. As a certified student attorney he represented hundreds of clients from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. His experience includes advocating on behalf of indigent clients in district court proceedings, administrative hearings and before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Daniel also spent a summer during law school at a law firm in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he worked to ensure that disabled children received the fair and equal education to which they are entitled.

Nathaniel R. Greene – Nate Greene is an associate attorney with Greeman Toomey, PLLC, and practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law. Nate is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Nate received his undergraduate degree in Business and Political Science from Bethel University in 2006, and received his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in 2009. While at Marquette, he was awarded First Place in the Jenkins Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining Greeman Toomey, Nate practiced criminal defense at the Appelman Law Firm. During that time, Nate represented clients facing felony, gross misdemeanor, and misdemeanor charges. He has also worked in civil litigation and for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Nate lives in Prior Lake, Minnesota. He enjoys outdoor baseball, playing hockey, and volunteering at his church.

Sarah Soucie Eyberg – Sarah is an associate attorney with Greeman Toomey, PLLC. She is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
Sarah received her undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas, graduating cum laude with a double major in Sociology and English, and a minor in Philosophy. After college, Sarah attended law school and received her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law.
While in law school, Sarah was actively involved with the Minnesota Justice Foundation and the Reentry Clinic. She dedicated over 500 hours of pro bono legal services to indigent clients during her three years at William Mitchell.
Sarah was also actively involved in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. She was individually recognized for her contributions to her chapter by the International Executive Board with the Frank E. Gray Outstanding Law School Clerk award. Sarah remains active with P.A.D. by volunteering as an Assistant District Justice for District X, and serving on the Executive Board for the Twin Cities Alumni Chapter.
Sarah lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband, Jason, and their dog, Fletcher, and three cats. When she is not working, Sarah enjoys reading, knitting, hunting, and football. She especially likes to spend weekends up north at the cabin with her family.

Melanie Clatanoff – Melanie is an associate attorney with Greeman Toomey, PLLC. She is admitted to practice law in New York.
Melanie received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Tufts University. She attended the University of Minnesota Law School, obtaining her Juris Doctor in 2010. Prior to joining Greeman Toomey, she worked at the Social Security Administration in the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review’s Office of Appellate Operations, in Crystal City, Virginia. Melanie gained extensive experience as an attorney adviser for the Appeals Council, and she continues to practice exclusively in the field of Social Security disability law with Greeman Toomey.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Melanie now lives in Minneapolis with her husband Josh. She enjoys playing with their dog, Gus, and reading.

Ryan J. Miner – Ryan is an associate attorney with Greeman Toomey, PLLC. He is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and he practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law.
Ryan graduated summa cum laude from Herzing University with a degree in Information Technology and received his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. During law school, Ryan worked as a judicial extern with two district court judges, provided volunteer legal services through the Minnesota Justice Foundation to low income individuals, and served as a student member of the Minnesota Justice Foundation’s board of directors. His volunteer experiences in law school gave Ryan a strong desire to help others secure their rights.
Before joining Greeman Toomey, Ryan served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Judge Mark M. Starr and assisted in the adjudication of a variety of cases, including employment and forfeiture related matters. Ryan also provided research assistance to fellow attorneys and pro se litigants as a Reference Staff Attorney at Thomson Reuters. These prior positions exposed Ryan to a wide range of claims found in our legal system.
Ryan lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife, their Irish Wolfhound, and two cats. In his free time, Ryan enjoys reading, board games, and spending time with his friends and family.
